I have a proven track record of commitment, experience and desire to do and see good things for this community. I’m a lifelong public servant. I am humble, engaged and work here every day and want only the best for my fellow residents, my friends and my family. I want to be part of the team that continues to make this community a wonderful place to live!
Other important things to know about me:
- Experience: 30+ years as Perry Township’s longest-seated elected Fiscal Officer. I have worked with at least seven (7) Trustees through my years of service, delivering sound, State-audited management of public funds in excess of $3,000,000 each year for Township plus another $1,000,000 for Perry Public Library each year.
- Transparency: Throughout my career, I have encouraged, demonstrated and insisted on transparency of Perry Township’s information and business processes.
- Responsibility: I understand and perform my work with the objective that in everything I do, whether I am doing it personally or someone is helping me, the outcome is ultimately my responsibility
- Committed – Resident since 1985, public official since 1992 (elected since 1993). I have worked nearly my entire career advocating for the residents, their tax dollars and the betterment of this community
- What Do I want for Perry Township?
- Retain peaceful rural character of our community through controlled and thoughtful growth.
- Maintain excellent Township services to residents with open access to their government.
- Maintain responsible utilization and protection of the public’s tax revenues.
Issues
- Growth – more business generates better and more sustainable tax base than residential growth. While our school system is built to handle some residential growth, with that comes increased revenue need. We must balance need through commercial growth not by increasing tax burden of residents.
- Community Policing – secure long-term and stable funding to enable active policing throughout the Township. Current contract evidences both need and success of having police actively in our community.
- Senior Citizens – continue to serve and care for our senior citizens by providing a senior center facility and staffing that provides socialization, day-to-day care, food services and recreation.
- Our Kids – continue to support Perry Area Joint Recreation District both directly and through Township-led project assistance (ball fields, dug outs, maintenance) which provides sports, engagement and socialization among our kids to inspire and grow our kids into healthy, responsible and successful adults.
- Fiscal Responsibility – continue from a different perspective to manage this Community’s tax dollars in a smart, responsible, professional and transparent manner.
- Economic Development – grow and maintain this Community’s tax base with increased commercial business so that it can support our needs for our childrens’ future.
